Submarine Implosion and the Tragedy of the Titanic Submersible Incident
A video depicting a submarine implosion has surfaced online, shedding light on the tragic event where all five individuals aboard the Titanic submersible met instant demise due to a ‘catastrophic implosion’ at a depth of 1,600ft.
The implosion, akin to a bomb detonation, resulted in the rapid crushing of the vessel within milliseconds. Such a catastrophic event can be triggered by even a minor crack or fault in the carbon fibre and titanium hull of the submersible, as shown in the video.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, 18 June, involving the tourist submarine, a 21ft submersible operated by OceanGate Expeditions. Contact with the vessel was lost approximately one hour and 45 minutes after it had submerged.
Search and rescue officials speculate that the men perished on Sunday, with military planes using sonar buoys subsequently detecting potential SOS signals, resembling ‘banging’ sounds in the water.
The victims included OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French Navy veteran Paul-Henri (PH) Nargeolet, British billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old son Suleman.
Rear Admiral John Mauger of the US Coast Guard explained, ‘The implosion would have generated a significant, broadband sound that the sonar buoys would have picked up’ at a press conference.
